Default Econ river fishing, I have a question

I've been seeing a lot of posts about the Econ river and looked on Google maps to find launching areas. Any way I see a ramp on Snow Hill road, then went to the Fish/Wildlife sight to see about the ramp and it says canoe/kayak only. Anyone seen this ramp and my question is , is that part of the river motor free or can you use an electric trolling motor. I guessed it was canoe or kayak because ramp is gravel, I want to hit it in my plastic two man bass hunter but don't want to break any laws. Anyone know about this? Thanks

I use Snow Hill some when I work out that way. The river isn't very wide right there and has trees that have fallen across it. I haven't made a trip on it but it looks like a boat of any size wouldn't be able to navigate. Camera's in the truck stops me from looking any further. Canoe or kayak for the first trip looks to me to be a smart move. A trolling motor would have to be used whenever it allowed but I think it would have to be tilted some and mine is off to the left side so that wouldn't be an option for me. Supposed to be some great fishing there but I haven't fished any of it since my teens, a couple of minutes ago. What was a good drift was Juniper Run up near Salt Springs. Dumps into lake George but there is a bridge before that where you can take out making it all downstream. Hope you find a way, and keep in mind that the water table is low. Might be better when it's a bit higher.

Thanks, I may take a trip there just to check it out, a bad day fishing is still better than just about anything else

I live a few miles from where you speak of, it is "the Econ" only accessible by kayak or canoe from the snow hill area & downstream... many tree lay-downs to maneuver around with a few deep holes, but mainly shallow through-out. Very popular with the younger crowd on the weekends. However, if you launch from Rt. 46 at C.S. Lee park, the Econ starts about 3/4 to a mile on the right hand side headed south & is boat accessible for a good 6-8 mile stretch & maybe where these reports you have heard, come from. Good luck & catch a bunch....also you can use any size motor on the Econ, but would just not be feasible in the Snow Hill area & downstream to protect your lower unit. Trolling motor wouldn't get you back through current around Snow Hill, many drop off at Snow Hill & have another vehicle parked downstream in Oviedo to end canoe or Kayak trip, beautiful wild life area......

C.S.Lee park was going to be my next choice, looked like there where some areas I could get into and dab a few jigs around in, my fear with the little 10 ft boat is getting run over by a big old bass boat going 100 or a jet powered air boat with 20-30 tourists on board
