I have a Minn Kota Powerdrive v2 i purchased Last year it is the 12v 55# model. I currently just use the foot pedal in my hand which can be kind of a nuisance when you get a fish hooked longlining or the wind is rough, I have been seriously thinking about getting the ipilot to add to my trolling motor but was wondering if it is worth the $450.
The I-pilot is the best money you'll ever spend on fishing equipment if you like to troll. I used to do it like you described, holding the pedal in your lap while trying to fish is tough when conditions aren't ideal. The I-pilot remote is small and comes with a rope to clip it to your belt so your hands are free for fishing. I love, love, love mine!!

You can buy the copilot for less than a $100 and have both the foot pad and a remote. I like having the foot control when fish are schooling so my hands are free.
I've got one and love it. It's worth the money

Man I will never go back. So much easier. One thing for brush pile fishing I prefer the mechanical foot pad like my old Motorguide. The digital footpad is hard to get use to. But the remote control for longline and tightline wont leave home without it.

Yes it is worth it and if you can afford it sell yours and upgrade to the new terrova

Absolutely, love the spot lock feature when fishing brushpiles
I have a 16.5 lowe boat have a 55# terrova. works great if you are fishing whites or what ever to keep you in the area. Will not keep you over a brush pile unless it covers and acre wonders off 20ft even with light wind. Spot lock should be called in the vicinity lock.
