Rees told you right...It is going to be a mad house..With a wife as thoughtful as you, I bet he will have a good trip, no matter what the conditions are. Hope y'all have a great anniversary, with many more to follow.

I sure hope your right on this one, it is me and my husbands 26th anniversary.. I wanted to suprise him with the perfect gift. He loves to fish, but no one is claiming to be a pro here. I have always heard Grenada Lake to be the gold standard for crappie fishing and that is why I decided it would be the perfect trip. From Indiana and must say we have never seen crappie the size of ones on your lakes. Weather forecast isnt looking too good, just praying for a nice weekend on the lake and if that means fishing in the rain but catching.. I'm good with that. Just want him to enjoy the trip. Thanks for the little nudge of confidence. Rees Guides comment had me in a bad way..lol

we are totally unfamiliar with the lake, the best ramps, public restrooms (thats for me), cleaning stations, bait shops, etc... Hope we run into some friendly folks to help us out. Internet searches have been zero help with all this.
I think you will find most everyone friendly, and helpful. Give Rees a p /m. He offered to help..lives close to the lake, guides part time, and will help anyone he can

There are only a few ramp usable at the moment. Grenada landing, wolf creek, choctaw, and torrance. Grenada landing is where all the tournament stuff will be so I would avoid it. The good thing about coming down to his area is if you do not want to deal with the tournament and grenada you can run up the road to enid. Enid will more than likely be crowded with the people who do not want to deal with the tournament but either way good luck and I hope you have a safe and fun trip! Yall should try and make a trip back down this summer and pull cranks!

Where are y'all planning on staying kat? I can shoot you a pm with some helpful information and I'm sure after reading the reason for the trip, some other guys will too. We all talk tough, but all these guys and gals are good as gold and all heart. Just don't put a lot of info out publicly, especially during a tournament week![]()

I was just funning around. Seems like a good number of folks watch a show and become pros. I am still learning. I guess my comment would have worked better for a duck hunting forum as everyone seems to be the next Phil Robertson after watching their TV show. I'll be up tomorrow through Saturday. Hope this weather holds off. Good luck
Kat, don't worry about finding nice people in Mississippi. I would think you would have to really work at it to not find them. I hope you have a great anniversary weekend and catch a boat load. The first time I went my wife and I caught 17fish and they filled a 5 gal bucket. Being from Ill. I know it would have taken 4times that many at home to fill one. That is what I like about going down there you don't need a limit to get a bunch of meat and have a good time.Hope you have a good time.
