Default For all the fabricators, transducer mounting question

Just bought a Garmin Panoptix transducer and new unit. Have been looking at mounting options.... being as I longline and pull cranks a lot of the time, if I mounted this transducer on the transom, I could see the depth of my baits and fish in relation to them. But on the other hand, I would like to have the forward looking sonar on the front like on the podunk mount, but I would like to be able to turn it with say a hand control tm extension like the salt water guys use. Just trying to get thoughts and ideas from some more creative minds before I start drilling holes

I would look around the pawn shop for a cheap hand control clamp on trolling motor. Fabricate a bracket for front and rear. Remove prop and armature from motor. Then mount transducer. Move front to back and could add extension handle to do what you want.

See that's the stuff I'm looking for! Great idea, I was thinking piece of alum tubing, but the mount would have to be custom fabricated

Cool, I'll be over your way fishing before too long. I'll give you a shout.

I have a few ideas, but they may or many not work. Just out of my fabrication skill range
