pouring jigs????
hi fellas. i been pouring my own jigs now for about 2 years. do-it jig co. has finally came out with a mold thats a minnow head with an underspin. it only has 6 cavities with the smallest being 1/16th which is what i will be using. i have the mold, swivels, and the wire that goes in the head itself but i wanted to get yalls opinion on the size willow leaf blade two use. i've never poured lures with spinner in there so this is new to me. the #3 looks right but theres no chart to give me a measurement. thanks

I think the #1 is plenty big enough for me on a 1/16th. I even use a 0 in clear water during spawn, It is personal preference tough. You will change over time ,just experiment.

A paper catalog from Barlow's or Netcraft usually has a chart that shows actual size.

Also can look at Worth Lure Components | The World's Finest Fishing Lure Components and you can see the different sizes and how much larger each is. Maybe look at Hagen as these are the 2 top Mfg's of blades and lure components like that.

On that 1/16 I'd start with a 0 and make a few with a #1. On 1/8 pony I use up to a #2 Colorado and up to a 3 1/2 willow in our muddy water. Kinda have to look at blade length on that shad head and see how it lays when inline with the hook. Don't want the blade to interfere with hook set.
