I would also like to add that I posted this in the KY forum to get responses from people that have used these cards on KY and lake Barkley. Sorry if I posted in the wrong area and feel free to move if need be. Thanks

I am currently running an old outdated navionics hot maps premium east card that is missing a ton of detail. I am in the market to update my maps card and don't really know what direction to head towards so I'm looking for any helpful info from others personal experience.
I am running a helix 9 and have another one on the way. I can buy the navionics update card for around $100 or could go the route of humminbird lakemaster for around the same price. There are also other options with lakemaster but not sure if those features are helpful like some of the overlay features offered in the lakemaster plus card. Is it worth the plus features? I am mainly using this card for crappie and the occasional bass fishing. Thanks for your input.

You couldn't run fast enough to give me a Navionics card of KY/Barkley after having owned Lakemaster V2 and V3 cards of KY/Barkley. Absolutely no comparison.

With a Lakemaster card in a HB you get a lot of options that are not available with the Navionics.
Just make sure you get a current version of the card as some of the earlier ones did not have contour lines for Barkley.
The latest version for the SouthEast States is version 4 and for the Lakemaster Plus (adds aerial imagery) is version 2.

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
I think that option is just a bass crowd bell-and-whistle. I haven't seen when I would benefit from it.
I say what I do about the LakeMaster card being much better than Navionics Premium after having owned and used both a ton. I could buy several Navionics cards with the $$ I've lost in lost crankbaits from bad info on the Navionics.

I'll second the vote for Lakemaster's superiority on KY Lake in particular. I always ran Navionics when we fished Alabama waters but their mapping on KY is not as detailed/up to date as the Lakemaster card. Stick with the Southeast version 4 card, it includes the HD survey without the sat image overlay which I wouldn't find being worth the premium price.
I've been super happy with the Lakemaster Great Lakes V3 card for KY lake, its spot on everywhere I've been on the north end of the lake. You can also do the ChartSelect program if you only want to purchase one lake at a time, for a big lake like KY or Barkley, you might be money ahead to just get the whole card however. You could also download the Navionics app on your tablet or phone and take that out with you, then you have the best of both worlds...
