Volunteers needed for 6th Annual FISH Day (Friends Involved with Smithville Habitat) at Smithville Lake. March 30th ,2017. We will be focusing on the area around Sailboat Cove this year from 9 am until we run out of trees. Registration begins at 9 am at the Smithville Lake Sailboat Cove parking lot, which is located just West of Paradise, MO. We will have 4 habitat barges installing huge hardwood brushpiles in the lake. Bring a pair of gloves and a strong back! Last year we were able to put in over 100 brushpiles in 1 day! Please contact me and let me know if you are interested in helping out.

Why is this done during the week?
Glad to see some brush put in sailboat cove agai. I did well there a couple years ago, but they have been rotting down the last year.
Will try to be there.
Are there any tools that I could bring that would be useful like branch clippers, fencing tool, rope, knife, etc. ?
Pliers might be handy, PFD and a rain suit the way the forecast looks.
Due to the heavy rain Wednesday and rainy forecast for Thursday March 30th, we are postponing Smithville FISH Day to Friday March 31st. Registration will be 9 am at Sailboat Cove. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks

Thanks to Clay Co. Parks, MDC, Corps of Engineers, and all of the volunteers. I!m sure all of us will see the rewards from this project. This was my 4th year, and it was great to see the turnout.
