Well channel 48 is at it again making news telling just enough to scare people. You can go the adem site and read all the information that 48 had. There are no restrictions on crappie from the tenn river. Bass and cat from parts of the river but no crappie. If you read the hold report black crappie is listed only one time and that is not in the tenn river. All of us would like to know if any risk to eating crappie but until there is real information I am going to enjoy my fish, catching and eating. I read this report each year and crappie has not been on it for tenn river. Good fishing and good eating.

Same here ! I have eaten lots and lots of fish out of the Tennessee river for over 35 yrs and it hasn't stunted my growth yet lol! Baptize em in da grease .!ask the lord to bless em and chow down !!!
If I die from a full belly of crappie fillets, so be it. I'l be happy and full when I cross over![]()
Talked to a game warden one day on the TN river. He said that crappie did not pose a threat, especially since folks usually cut the fillet away from the skin of the fish. Most contaminants are held in the skin and the fat next to the skin if there are any. So, I will continue to enjoy my crappie fillets!!!

Crappie seem to be fine. I only twitch slighty after a hearty meal of fillets. Enjoy!![]()
