    Cool Murray 2-24a

Fished today with a striper guide friend. We started in buffalo and caught a couple crappie and perch and small rock fish. Left there and went up river to hawlee creek and started in the back and fished out. Caught a couple more crappie and perch. Bite real slow and fish were scattered so we left there and went to spring creek to the back and pulled out. About half way out buddy's smallest rod with 4 lb test bent over. Fight was on. He managed to get it out of the lines and I got it in the net. It was about an 8 lb striper. Caught a couple crappie. Don't know how many as he took them home. Good day fishing with a good friend. Water temp started at 58 and when we left it was 60.8, winds calm and water slightly stained. Fished with 1/32-1/16 and1/8 oz jigs with light and dark colors. Nothing was any better than the rest. That's my story and I am sticking to it Don

Congrtats. Do you have the striper fight on video? I'd love to see that.

Sounds like a great day. On your home lake with a home boy.

Just kidding. I'm sure it was like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.

Yea, I fished today. Don't want to hijack your thread. I'll post all about it.

My wife and I went out today and caught 5 crappie, two big ole perch and had a nice bass up to the boat but it got off. The water temperature in Clouds creek has jumped up to almost 70 degree from 65 yesterday. Crappie are shallow in two to four feet of water. We caught some females that were about to burst with eggs. The biggest was a Black Crappie that weighed 1.5lbs.
You can't catch fish from the couch.

Glad you and the wife got out and caught some. I had planned on coming on up river but did not make it. Going to try it again next week and probably head up river. I am going to spend one day cruising the banks to see what I can find. Don
