Actually the cages were put there as an effort to keep deer from munching that particular area of vegetation that Mississippi State planted as a project. The areas that were disked have some type of aquatic vegetation in them.Curious to see what will emerge from those plots!

Default Walking the lake bottom yesterday...

Like Slablapper said these are utilization cages... People use em all over in food plots to see how much is eaten.. Pretty sure corps put em in but it's the stupidest thing I've ever seen... Why drive metal stakes and use chicken wire in a darn lake bottom...

Now see...that's what I was thinking. Why put something like that in a place where boats and motors operate? I figured there had to be a good reason, and making a bed is surely a good reason (whether it's good enough or not I'm not saying), but keeping a deer from eating something? I'm not in charge, so whatever makes the smart people happy, I guess.

BigBlue, the ones I saw were in Longbranch.
