    Default KY 2/19

Though the weather girl was a little more accurate this morning compared to yesterday, the fog on the water would make jolly old London jealous. I had to move twice until I got onto them and had a limit plus a couple yellow bass by noon. Biggest went 12 1/4". I lost a bigger fish juggling a 16' rod in one hand and an ego net that I wished was 4' longer in the other. Water temps 48-52.4. Got checked by the KDFWR game warden boat and he was hitting every boat in one of the major bays and saw at least one citation being written. Ran into the creel survey boat out speaking with people as well. A few of the creeks looked like it was already late March with all the boats on the water.

***Be safe out there, the idiots are already out in full force.***

Awesome! Where was this? Glad to see someone had luck today. I caught One 8in crappie. I tried live bait, jigs, spinners... all of it. Air temp 55 degrees, water temp 42-45. Fishing on yatesville lake. Not a good day...

Is that common this time of year?

It is and should be every month of the year. Our county has been without a CO (game warden) for 2 years. Word I got yesterday is we will have a new CO in a couple of weeks.

I spoke with the game warden that has been working Jonathon and Blood and he told me he has written a lot of tickets for short fish. And it is mostly locals.
It saddens me to know that we are hurting are own lake by removing the shorts. Please check and understand how to measure your fish.

As long as your fish are big enough to keep and you don't have more than your supposed to, shouldn't have anything to worry about. The game wardens I've run into at Barren and Nolin all seem to be real good fellows. Went fishing with one of my older buddies a couple weeks ago, and he forgot his life jacket. He seen a game warden in the parking lot and went up to ask him where the best place to buy a life jacket in town was. He was just gonna run into Glasgow and buy one. Game warden told him hold on, and reached in his truck and handed my buddy a life jacket. We thanked him, and asked him where his truck would be later, so we could put the life jacket back in it, after we were done fishing. He told us to keep it, it was an extra one that they give away anyway at their boating safety seminars. Awesome.
