    I think you are most correct. 6# would be the best line of choice. I have a 3,000 yard Crappie Maxx hi vis spool to use then I will switch to 6#. I guess with mono you would re-spool each year. I first went with braid because of memory, last longer and I can mark my line at 60 feet. The short time I use Braid I noticed the initial strikes and getting off. I wonder from the braid not giving stretch it could tear more out of crappie mouth. The mono I noticed I am landing more most likely due to stretch at the bite and during the fight. I now have 4 poles braid still and 4 poles mono. When I am convinced I might move to all mono.
