    My luck was with 1/8th . had found some light wire jigs and put on 20lb braid..the hook bent out when i got hung up..lost a few, but most came off doing that. Weight size depends on how fast the wind is pushing you. its an experimental technique for certain, but better than giving up lol, especially when you drive 5 hours to get there..

    I've done this a couple of times at Lake Claiborne. I was using a wind sock and I matched the jig size to the speed I was being pushed along. I motored to the north bank and just drifted across the dam end of the lake. The trolling motor enjoyed this technique as well. The wind wasn't a gale but strong enough to use the sock and slow the boat to a nice crawl. When I would approach the south bank, I would crank up and do it again. I've done this at Larto as well. I keep a wind sock in my boat. SLIP
