Keep after it. It's been an odd year.

I went to my local lake Saturday morning. A stiff breeze made it fun to keep the boat where I needed it and I lost some hooks as a result.

It started out promising with five fish in the first 30 minutes. I marked a nice school and those came from it. Turned off and the fish moved somewhere. After a while the wind eased up and the sun was bright making for a nice day.

found some fish in shallower water which surprised me. By shallow, I mean ten feet near the bank. Maybe they are staging?? I caught three decent fish between 12-14" in that area - all females. Ended the day with 13 over a 6 hour period but thoroughly enjoyed it.

When the sun comes out and the wind dies down, try the 6-10 ft mark.
