I would have at least drug it up on the bank, net is a major pain in the butt.

And shown no mercy. First time I've gotten to fish in almost a month, been busy cutting bamboo, worked habitat day yesterday and other days been to windy. Cruising along minding my own business then this.. anchored off land I guess and only one jug a couple hundred yards away.
Two out of poles almost broke one and lost the other over side of boat while cutting out this birds nest. Get it all cut out rod's in the boat go to pull the trolling motor up and broke the rope.
Once up had another birds nest to cut out from TM
I was tempted to cut the net clean in half, but I understand commercial slimer fishermen have to eat too, although doubt he was legit, no name or number on jug, one of those days for sure![]()

I should have, especially since no identification on the net. And to top it all off someone been rummaging thru Cane's bamboo he set out for habitat day the 18th. They went thru and got the choice pieces and strowed the rest all over one side of the ramp, I cleaned it up before I left. Sometimes it don't pay to belong to the human race![]()
One of those days I think we have all been there![]()
I had the biggest Charlie Foxtrot of my crappie career this past week. Started with the first fish of the the day and next thing I know a slimmer runs one pole into the other and takes them both into the trolling motor which, of course, is running. Wind pipes up for a good blow while I am sorting that out and lays me into the bank/brush. As the boat rebounds back into the river the rod with the fish on it tangles in a bush on the bank and decides to take a swim. I dive to try and save it I kick my open tackle box off the bow and some how manage to upend and open every box into the bottom of the boat except for about 2 dozen cranks that make it into the water. I jump back into the seat, and forgetting how it all started....I jam the TM into high gear and take off..... I need a few new tips now. I feel your pain brother!

Never got it, I deleted a bunch of stuff. So please try again, thanks.
what did y'all expect if you tell the whole world where you staged it. I have staged stakes at the lake before but only me and another boy knew where they was and when we went to get them they was still there sometime it better to be a unsung hero then it is to tell everyone what you did.
