    Default Anyone fish Big Alabama Bayou near Krotz Springs?


    I plan on going to the Sherburne WMA gun range Friday to shoot a few guns and was thinking of bringing my boat along. There is a nice boat launch right there near the WLF HQ where you can put into Big Alabama Bayou. I've never fished it before and looking for any tips from anyone who has been there before.

    Fished there a few time a couple of years back with mixed success. I launched on the lower end and never got up to the are you are thinking about. Where I was there was lots of good looking laydowns, but on the down side there were a lot that could whack a lower unit. I was OK in a kayak. They do run it in outboards, but be alert. It's a nice place and not that pressured.

    Fished it a few times two years ago during spring.....caught a few, there are some nice lay downs in there.....water usually looks good near range/boat launch
