Codie, I live in S Bossier. Not a terrible drive, but I'm lazy. Lol. Rusty, I tried a slip cork fishing around trees, then dropped my jig depth a few times and tried fishing further and further into the creek channel. All I hung was a white bass. Several others were doing the same. I figured it would pick back up today with the temp up and the pressure down a little. Wish I could get out there during the week. It's not far from where I work, but getting off work in time to fish before dark would be impossible, unless I invite my boss. Might be able to talk him into it that way.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.

Went today and had a ball in paw paw! Caught 48 and 1 brrim but I threw 3 back because I lost count after 40. Didn't want Game Warden to catch me over the limit! Hit 10 on the bank and the rest in the channel . All with jig pole!

It's always great during the workweek. Nice haul though!

During the weekend all the boats puts pressure on the fish and cause them to scatter. In the back today , there were at least 7 boats in one area. Guys were arguing! I caught my first 10 in the front where the house that allow the small boats to launch. I fish the spots that everyone passes up and might get about 5 off a top. I have depth finder on my boat , so when I got to an area that was deep , I fish the channnel and hung over 20! Also you gotta fish it slow and fish up against the banks around every piece of structure you see. If you hit 1 , fish it to see if there are more. I never use corks because I have to feel the thump!

Blue ice , but I catch the limit on different jigs just to experiment! You can use any color that has worked before on Cross lake. Although I haven't tried my black and chartreuse yet. And I always fish a foot off the bottom whether I'm in the channel or on the banks.
