    Default anyone been on wateree lately?


    What are the water temps looking like? Is the water still muddy around colonels?

    53 downlake to 56 upper end. Extremely mud coming outta wateree creek. Mudline was around Beaver to Colonel creek. Good stain colonel creek down but very fishable. This was yesterday.

    (new to crappie fishing) Dont crappie spawn hen the water hits 60?

    Don't depend on the water surface temps. With warm weather the surface will heat up but only maybe a foot down at the most. You will see some crappie being caught up in shallow water on a few reports but they are just chasing bait. As we get into mid February we may see some fish making a run up spawning but look for the main spawn to start getting good in March - May.

    I always like to go after the spawning ones when the Dog Wood trees are blooming!
