    Default Trent River

Fished the Trent on Saturday. Caught quite a few crappie, a couple of bass and and a couple of Pickerel. The first spot I fished at I had a limit of keepers by 10. But, it took me about a 3 to 1 ratio to get that limit too. So I decided to head up the Trent a little further in search of some bigger fish.

I did manage to find the fish I was looking for and ended the day with my biggest fish just over 2 lbs. I had another that was 1.75 lbs and several between 1.25 - 1.50 lbs. Water temp where I started at rose to 51* and by the time I left yesterday, where I was catching the better fish at, was 54.1*. All the water that I fished yesterday was less than 6' deep, and several areas considerably less than that.

If you go, don't be scared to start looking at your spawning areas, or close by to them. These big females are on the move, and if it stays warm like it is, it'll be here before you know it.

I'm not sure it's that far as the crow flies. But,you're point is noted.

don't be surprised if throwing jigs to have a shad grab your bait as a few have already been caught in the Tar.

I've never caught a shad before, but I assume it'll eventually happen.
