    Default Heeeelp!!!!!!

Well, my refrigerator freezer at the lake went out over a month ago. Apparently they cut the underground feed from the house to my little shop when they dug the footing for my new shop. It was working fine up until I found it, so I guess the splice gave way and went to ground. After unplugging everything, and resetting the breaker, it kept tripping. I replaced the breaker to no avail. I caught it 3-4 days after it happened. I could tell that because there was still a tad bit of a bag of ice left in the freezer. I cleaned it out and ran a new feed today from the new shop. Low and behold I had left a bag of fish in it. Man, it stinks.

How do you get the smell out of the freezer now that it has dripped yuk all over the place? I guess the one bag of fish I left in the freezer had a hole in the vacuum bag. It dripped all down into the refrigerator.

clean up the mess and get it good and dry !!! then get you a bag of charcoal a medium bag will do put take the charcoal and put in freezer and refrigerator shut the door and don't open it for about 3 to 4 days unit has to be shut off !!!! then after the 2 to 3 days get all the charcoal out of the freezer and frig and let it air out for a day smell should be gone !!!! I have done this multiple times and it never let me down !!! the charcoal will absorb the smell so get rid of it for sure !!!!

It's running now. Gotta go turn it off. Does a few hours running hurt it?

Nope, just let her warm up and do any defrosting it might need. Make sure you pull that drain pan for the defrost line down by the compressor. If anything ran down to that it would still have some mell. Just soak it in a little bleach water. One she is warmed back up do the charcoal thing and you should be good to go.

I had that happen...I just washed my fridge out really good and let dry...then I poured several boxes of baking soda in a big bowl and set the bowl inside fridge and closed the door and turned it on....Two weeks later opened it and smelled as good as a new one....took the bowl of baking soda out and threw it away.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
