Greetings All,
I am in the USAF an will be relocating to Eglin AFB this summer. Are there any good crappie lakes around that area in the Pan Handle. All information would be greatly appreciated

Lake Talquin. Located between Tallahassee and Quincy hence the name. I've never fished it but I've heard you should have plenty of hooks/jigs and line. Good fishing to ya and thanks o much for your service!
I have heard the Choctawhatchee river has good slabs down your way.

I've heard of some good fishing in the rivers of the panhandle. Schools of white bass that make a drag scream for mercy. All good info so far, I haven't spent much time up there myself. There is a good group of folks up that way that will show you the ropes, I'm sure. Or this isn't Crappie.Com!

I was stationed there in 74/75. I used to carry a jon boat on top of my car and fish ponds on the base ranges. Never did that good. But there was hunting also. Don't know about crappie, but there is great salt water fishing. Also a great area, lots of fun. Enjoy your time there and thank you for serving. Good luck on the fishing.
Talquin, Seminole, Choctawhatchee River, Pate Lake in Carryville, and my favorite just over the Alabama line is Gantt!

Thanks for all of the great information. I am looking forward to getting there this summer and getting some lines in the water. Never done saltwater fishing so I am looking forward to that also.
