For the newcomers or people that might be interested in attending:
Crappie Camp is a time when people that interact on crappie dot com can come together and share food, fellowship, and fun. There is zero cost to attend. It is a family friendly atmosphere and we encourage people to bring their children, spouses, or significant others. In the coming weeks there will be multiple posts asking for a head count (who will attend), what food each person or group would like to bring (pot luck), who would like to bring disposable items (paper towels, plates, utensils), and an agenda (or timing for events).
Friday evening (June 9th) will be set aside for camp arrival and “Liar’s Club”. This is a time when people get together, talk about how life is going, introduce new people, and “Ride the Initiation Goat” (see Steve for details). This is a time when we take care of any group related business, talk about the rules and sign up for the upcoming fishing event, hand out T-Shirts, and tell stories. It is usually held at an undesignated camping spot (wherever everyone happens to congregate to).
Saturday June 10th will be a friendly fishing tournament. This is NOT a professional angler tournament. Rules and timelines are established on Friday evening. We have a weigh in and awards and prizes will be handed out. After the tournament will be a pot luck style luncheon.
We look forward to seeing everyone at a new location. The camp is “pet friendly” so Buddy (and the goat) will be able to attend!

Okay I called, here is what I found out. When you call the person answering the phone is Julie. She said they started taking calls for reservations a couple weeks ago and I was #147 , this does not mean I am 147 for the weekend we are planning to go, just that's how many called ahead for reservations at either of the two spots (Rose or Crittenden) When you call she will ask for your name and number and campsite preference and when they get through the list to your number they will call you back with whats available.
So I urge everyone to call as soon as you can.
I asked for campsite A1, doesn't mean I'll get it. She was very interested in our group and asked a lot of questions. I told her she could check us out here on the forum.
Someone should inquire about a "block" of sites for C.com. If we could get a firm commitment from people they might work with us.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
Thanks Steve! I was unable to get through on several of my calls.
Don, They do have a Group reservation sheet that can be downloaded from the link I listed above. I think you are right. Maybe the thing to do is reserve a block based on how many people might want to attend (and need a campsite).
SOOO... We need a head count ASAP of how many camp sites we think we might need.
Also, WHO would be willing to take on the group coordination part of this?
WicklundRH will need 1 camp site for the 9th and 10th

Just Steve will need 1 campsite, electric and water 30A hookup....June 9th and 10th.
Also, if needed, people in attendance? Just Steve, Just Judy and Just Aiden.
Okay I just got off the phone with Julie.
There should not be any problem associated with getting enough camp sites for that time of year. Getting everyone together bunched in one area could be an issue however the most important thing is that we all get a site. Yes, we could do a group reservation BUT, all the sites reserved would need to be be paid for at one time. IF there was an issue were I thought we would not get a spot for everyone, I would consider doing that however, based on what Ms. Julie told me, there should not be a problem getting everyone a camping location for that weekend.
Julie is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-5. If you do not get ahold of her, leave a message and she will get back to you. Include your first and last name, telephone number, and location (Rose lake) that you would like to camp (as well as dates). She said it might take her a little while but she WILL get back to you at the number you leave for her.

I called to reserve a site but haven't heard back from them yet. If there is a block of sites reserved? We would like one of them. Will wait to hear back from Julie.

Larry,
There isn't a block reserved. Julie works on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I wouldn't expect a call from her until next week. They are excited to have us coming up. I'm sure they will do what they can to get us as close to each other as possible.
It may also help for any future callers to also tell them you are with Crappie Dot Com!
