Default 1st time on talquin 1-5-17

Made my first trip to Talquin with my step daddy today. We pulled jigs from lake talquin lodge strait across to channel with no luck. We then pushed minnows on the channel ledges. We caught 14 total with a 14",11" and the rest 10" and a couple under 10". Here is my step daddy with the 14" that weighed 1.6lbs.

Talquin has been quiet lately, but it could light up like a firecracker anytime. Thinking about making a day trip down there this weekend. Water sure looked nice in that pic.

Down for a week right after Christmas. Fish scattered and water temp in high 60's. Had to work for them. Need some cold weather to get them bunched-up in the river channels.

Hope to get over to Talquin for a couple of days soon. My snowbird crappie fishing buddy from Kansas is arriving this week and we will be beating the crappie waters of the Choctawhatchee River when the flood goes down.
