You will denitely catch some tight lining with minnows on structure. Last time out i was catching them between 30-40 ft over structure, so was using 1/2 oz of weight. Do you have eletronics to id bottom structure? If not let me know. Tim

Didn't have much luck catching crappie last time out. Getting the boat ready to try it again tomorrow. Any tips for this time of year? Color jigs? Depth? Any suggestions will be helpful!

As Tim stated tight line slow and deep close to the bottom with minnows you should find a few prior to this front that's moving in the area. Try to get in or on the edge of the channel. If you don't find them there then try the flats close the channel. I don't know about Garmin products or how they look on screen. But if you have 2d that will help a lot too! Good luck![]()
Tightlining is normally the ticket on Wateree this time of year. Trying fishing the channel on the upper end of the lake. Fish can normally be found close to the bottom on top of the ledge, on the ledge, and suspended deep out in the channel.
Look for some fish on your depth finder and set up shop. Move slow and keep your lines vertical. Straight minnows on jig heads and hooks should catch fish about as good as any jig. And minnows don't come in but one color!!! Haha unless you find some Uncle Remus trained blue attack minners!

Where did you get that foot control mount? That seems like it would be pretty comfy while seated.
You can't catch fish from the couch.
Well I wish I had a better report. Weather was great, water temp 50-51. Only ended up catching 1 crappie around 10". Still a good day and found some submerged things.
