    Default Location Question

I would like to take my four year old son fishing. We are temporaryily staying with family on Lake Hartwell. With the lake being over 11 feet low can't fish the lake. We don't have boat access. I am looking for
some bank fishing locations. Trout, crappie and bass are the targets. We can drive about two hours from the lake. Thanks.

Don't know much about that part of the state but some of the members here fish that area so hopefully they can guide you. Good luck.

If you are close to the dam try fishing the tail race below the dam for trout along with some other species. You won't find trout in the main lake or at least I have never seen any caught.
Fishing Sixmile creek should get you on fish, try the Brown Rd ramp area and Hurricane Creek ramp area has good water to fish with the lake down like it is.
Hope you find some biting, good luck and let us know how you do.

You can also check out Lake Issaqueena too above Clemson. I fished up there while I was I school.

Well. We tried fishing at an isolated boat ramp in Tugaloo state park. The lake was 10.5 ft low with muddy water. Not a bite or anything. We fished with a shad colored minnow jig by Bobby Garland and we fished with a pink and chartreuse minnow jig. Not sure what else to do. Water temp was in the lower 50's.

I would imagine it's pretty tough trying to get where the fish are during the colder months without a boat. Typically, I'm not finding fish any shallower than in 15'-20' of water.

That's is what I figured. I was hoping it would be different.
