Default Kayak Trip Report, Decatur Flats

I fished the Decatur Flats in the area of the Hwy 31 causeway from lunch till about 3PM today. The bite was slow but I found a few in 6 feet of water on scattered stumps spider rigging Chartreuse Bobby Garlands on 1/16oz jig heads. I kept a dozen and returned about as many short fish. The water was 42 degrees and clear with visibility of about three feet. I haven't had much time to fish the last few weeks so cold, rainy and windy, but still a productive short trip.

LOL, nope. I forgot about it until I got on the water, then didn't have the coordinates with me. Unbelievable amount of fish on my fish finder in the creek (16 to 20 foot water), but not biting. I think they may have been stripe. Most Crappie were hugging the bottom near deeper stumps in about 6 feet of water. I think I would have caught many more, but the wind was a little to high for my kayak.
