The TM draws 55 amps max and the wiring is good for 65 amps.
8 ga will be more than sufficient.

I just researched a bit. The 80# thrust Terrova pulls more amps than my 112# so if you run more than 15 ft, you should move up to 6 ga wire.

Ive been asked many times at landing. I tell people dont go with a short shaft and low thrust to save a couple hundred as you will be happy you got a 80lbs on those really windy days or rough days. I have a 80# long shaft on my deep v 17.5' and wish i bought the 112

Agree. I went with the 60" 112 because of the rough water we experience in the summer with the wind, wake boats, and pleasure cruisers here around Nashville.

I have never heard anyone complain about having a TM that is too big. I have heard lots of folks (myself included) complain about one that wouldn't hold in the wind or current.

8 gauge will work fine. Had it on my old boat for a 24 volt 65# powerdrive. Moved motor to my new to me boat at 20'. Still 8 gauge but with the longer boat, if I run 80#, would probably run 6 gauge. At 16 feet, Your good with 8 and 80#.CF

I have the 55# thrust Power Drive V2 on my Tracker 175. Great TM BUT a higher thrust with a foot petal to go along with remote would definitely be better. I purchased a fish finder at the same time so an upgraded TM was out of budget. What Skeet said earlier was on point.
