I've heard you can take an ice bag and put it over the joint for several minutes and it will contract and pull apart then. Don't know about the car wax though.

I have 8- BnM 16 foot trolling rods (PST16). I normally just leave them assembled in my boat rod rack. The other day I went to take my rod rack off the boat and take the 3 piece rods apart, but found it really difficult to get the rod sections apart. Some are stuck solid. I was afraid I would break some of them, so I stopped and thought I would ask on here for suggestions.
If I can get them apart without damage, I think I will apply car wax to the joints before I re-assemble them.
Let me know how to correct and prevent this in the future !!
Happy New Year !!
Thx

The wax should help but in the mean time you have to get them apart.
Standing with your feet together put the rod behind your knees, grasp the rod with one hand on one side of the joint in the rod and the other on the other side, grip the rod tightly and twist in opposite directions, now spread your knees apart pushing on your wrists, rod should come apart, repeat on other stuck sections.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will give them a try , but I don't think the freezer idea will work coz it was 13 degrees here in Russellville, AR when I was trying to get them apart last week !!
