    Default Wateree 12-26 parking lot...

First off, shocked no one has yet to post a report....

Had an amazing crew of fellow CDCers that have been planning a trip with me for quite some time. James being from Wilmington drove in for the holidays and we had this day marked on the calendar for a few weeks. Met up with him and his dad at our meeting spot and hit the road. Had the boat in the water at sunrise and went for a little ride. Objective for the day was to catch a load for a church fish fry down in Wilmington.

Hit our first likely area with birds working, piles of bait, no boats, and believe it or not, no fish. made 2 laps and had enough and pulled up and ran down the lake.
Hit spot #2 that looked likely to me. No birds, no bait, only 1 boat, and i was marking fish in the 10-25 ft range. dont think i got 5 rods out until it was game on. 1 here, 3 there, a double here. Then it went to a fish every 5 or so minutes. by about 11, the crowd started showing up riding up and down the lake putting the fish down. Its ok. by that time the sun broke out and we had already put 21 QUALITY fish in the boat. Hit that afternoon lull and it about put us all to sleep. Majority of our fish were in the 21-24 inch range and very "healthy".

on the ride in to the ramp, we again hit the motherload with birds diving and fish swirling. fished there for a few and nearly finished off our 3 person limit until the hard core idiots running and gunning had a hard time realizing why the fish kept going down with their loud 2 knockers.

Yesterday was one of those days that you had to have a downrigger. I think 4 out of every 5 fish came on it. Of course the majority also came off my A-rig. Made a believer out of 2 more guys, and a few others in the crowd.

Met a lot of fellow CDCers on the water. not sure how most of them faired but ill let them chime in if need be. From the sounds of it, it was extremely slowwww.
It was a pleasure to meet you on the water (albiet briefly) Uncle Remus and crowd.

Have a few pics to post however my internet connection at this dang hotel wont allow the uploads. yall will have to wait until another time!

Pete always finds them. Thanks for the info on where to put in and start. We fished near Pete most of the morning and did finally get 4 in the boat. Lead core just wasn't enough. Pete made a believer out of me with downriggers. Mounting mine in the next day or so. Thanks again Pete.

Thank you for the wonderful time Pete. It was great to finally connect and slay some striper. Mission accomplished and another friend made. Hopefully I get the chance to take you out saltwater fishing sometime.
