That splattershad in the picture is my go to color. Other than that you got to try different colors and see what they are biting. Just like plastics.

I like the idea of floating plugs on the outer rods to keep from fouling on turns. Have to give it a try.
I've been told only one species (can't rember if it was black or white) will hit plugs with any consistency. Any of you had that experience?

both hit the cranks...seems like the white are easier to catch though....blacks prefer more realistic colors and you have to hit them with the cranks to get them to bite em....

Black Crappie seem to like smaller baits. That's why I use the smaller Arkie 220's for them here in Florida. All we have here are black Crappie. So I think it's a good combo. Slab rigs on all the inside rods (with the Roadrunner/Tru Turn Hook combo), and on two outside long rods I put the smaller Arkie 220's. Smaller, and perhaps more finicky Crappie might hit the plastic grub on the tru turn hook, more aggressive ones might hit the Road Runner, and the big boys hit the Crank Bait. Having said that, I've found no rhyme or reason to the catching. I've caught tiny crappie no bigger than the crank bait on crank baits! But as a general observation, the bigger ones are caught on the bigger baits.
