Default boat upgrades - Santa delivered

Merry Christmas to all! All rejoice on this day for many reasons - The birth if Jesus was the gift to mankind and delivered the final victory against evil. I rejoice in this.

now on to my questions: I now have a HELIX 9 SI unit and two Millineum boat seats to install.

Where and how should install the new FF? I would like to keep the HELIX 5 for nav charts so thinking of a mount off the right side of the console but unsure where to get one that will work with the much bigger 9. It may prove difficult to keep both. I have a 859 DI unit at the bow. I want to use the new SI unit to search for structure and fish.

i am installing to two pedastles and seats up front so the wife and I can both fish for the front. Bonus.

    Pics to follow next post.

Just take the base in with you to make sure the holes match up . They make them in a few styles. If you get one make sure you get one that is made for the heavy units. I think the ones I got will hold up to 14 lbs. I have no regrets, they will not budge when on choppy water. Also allows you to adjust The unit any direction not just up and down like the base that comes with it.

This is the one I have. They actually make this in 2 designs for the part that mounts to console. Use a backing plate and you can stand on it.

Well didn't mean to delete the last on , tried to add something. I can send you a pick of the box, it has pic, dimensions, and other info. I can also send a pic of where I've got mine mounted, if you like.

Trey. RAM mount = yes. Crays backer plate recommendation is spot on. I use a different RAM mount. Actually two of them. I hotswap my 998c si head between both the triton and war eagle. Will try to send a picture. Here is a link like Cray sent. I spent about half the price the RAM store lists.

RAM D Size 2.25" Diameter Ball Mount with 3.68" Round Plate, Medium Length Double Socket Arm & 11" X 3" Rectangle Plate Unpackaged - RAM-D-111U | RAM Mounts

For my boats the ram "d" works better and you can order it with a short or long arm. I use the long arm. It has the heavier duty ball and allows nearly infinite up, down, and around adjustment. Looking at your console picture Cray's recommended mount may work better for you. You'll have to think through what works best.
