I was flying only giant scale from 120cc/100+" wingspan and up to the 170cc size, hardcore 3D with multiple sponsors. The expectations of traveling to all the big events and pushing the boundaries too far just got to be too much. It was getting expensive throwing $5k+ worth of airplane at the ground and not always missing. Then the FAA stepped in with all the "drone" garbage. That was enough for me to put it down. I get enough of them flying the real ones. Don't regret it a bit. Saved enough money to buy a boat. Still dream of owning my own aerobatic plane some day. I'll never be able to get flying out of my system.

Those jigs look very nice. Keep up the good work. It will be awesome when you catch your first fish on one of your jigs.

So I've been tying up some jigs now and then trying to improve. I was sitting down to tie up a few black/pink jigs for the weekend because I heard that's what they were biting. I took my wife and our nephew out for his 8th birthday. It was cold and I set us on a massive school of fish, but only managed to pull out two. I let him land the first fish which turned out to be the bigger one. We tried a few different depths and some other jigs, including plastics, with and without shiners. Just couldn't make them bite. Later that night, I tied a few different jigs, then tried playing around with twisting different chenilles and combos of marabou and buck tail to try to get something of a Cajun Cricket. It rained most of the day Sunday, but hunkered under my umbrella, I was able to stay somewhat dry. Then it happened. A rod bent down into the lake and I went for it. I set my umbrella down behind me and as I'm landing one, in the lake goes the umbrella. For hours, I considered heading to the house. Soaked, freezing, and unable to trigger any more bites, I was sure the only thing I'd catch was a cold. The rain finally ended after 3:00. I went for the school we'd fished the day before. It only produced two small fish. I cut off a B Garland jig and tied on one of my crickets. Still no luck. I said that was it. I'm going to let the wind blow me towards the launch and when I got close, I was out of there. Then it happened. WHAM! Rod bent over and out came a big black. Then another, and another, and another... Without hesitation, I tied on the other one I had. Ended up catching eleven good fish and a handful of dinks. It's pretty cool how one jig can save the day. Time to tie up some more of these!

I didn't take any pics before tossing them in the lake, so they're still wet, but looked nicer dry, but the fish liked them under water so that's what matters.

I twisted Black Sparkle wooly booger and a Pearl Orange Sparkle wooly booger chenille to get that. Then just added the orange and green buck tail with the flash. I tied four more but got in too big of a hurry and goofed up a couple. Still caught fish. I scraped up 8 on them yesterday in 30 minutes. I got off work and launched after sunset. Didn't have much time to fish, but the fish still like them.
