    Default Report: Chickamauga Lake 12/15/16

First report. Still a newbie to crappie fishing. Just got my boat back after getting some new electronics installed. I was anxious to try out the new gear. It was a cold one and the 10-15 mph wind didn't help things. Spent most the day tweaking the settings on the new units. Found a promising spot in the sun and with some reprieve from the wind. Caught a few crappie off some blow downs. Fish were in 18 fow. Water temp 45 deg. Used DK's favorite Panfish Assassin chicken on a chain 2" with white 1/16 roadrunner. Feeling nice crappie at the end of the line made the cold a little more bearable. All fish were released. Couldn't think about filleting fish since I couldn't feel my fingers.

Nice first post. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the new electronics. Sounds like you got them dialed in on the fish.

Thanks Dad. Forgot to mention all the crappie came on my new rod and reel you gave me for my birthday. I was able to battle the wind with the 7ft Lew's Wally Marshall Pro Series. Loved the Pfleuger Trion. It was so smooth.

"10-15mph wind" You are a better man than me! Actually, your outer gear looks pretty wind proof. What were you wearing?

I can stay warm, but I haven't the perfect gloves. By perfect I mean waterproof, and warm.
