Late post of Saturdays fishing on the NWR. Arrived at 7:30 for the Crappie Tournament but to find that no one showed. Well Scott and I went out any way, went down the river a ways and set up for tightlining/ long lining. The wind came up, temps dropped, but Scott was picking them right and left out the back of the boat. I picked off one, and lost it in the wind before I cold get it in the boat. Boat control was all consuming, little time to concentrate on fishing. But a great day all the same. Sorry no pics as Scott didn't take any, and I had my hands full controlling the boat. As many of you know with 12 lines in the water, windy days can make a mess out of your lines in a hurry. LET ME SAY THIS THE, FISH ARE IN THE RIVER. All of our fish were in the 12 inch range, and healthy. Now the details 12' of water, down about 6', minnows, plastic jigs. I was trying to keep the boat on the drop offs, as I thought they might be holding on the edges.
