Took a friend to Tville yesterday for my first trip in almost a month. We fished from 1 pm to 5 pm. Water temp was 54.7 deg with dead calm winds and overcast skies.
The bite was as good as I've ever experienced at Tville. In 4 hours of fishing, we caught well over 100 crappie. We found an unexpected pattern for keepers and finished our limits by 4 and culled till 5.
It really paid off to have spots in many different depths. I found what depth the bigger fish were using and we hit up every spot I had in that same depth and had a blast.
I'm about to switch over to my winter time scanning mode so I can expand on my depth range. Winter time on Tville is one of my favorite times of year. Low boat traffic and beautiful scenery makes for a great day on the water.
A pair of Loons sounded off around 4 o'clock across the lake from where we were fishing. The water was like glass and the craaps were thumpin. I couldn't help but think about how I wished my brother was there with us. It was amazing!
My friend texted me this morning and said he had a really good time. I texted him back and told him his guide had an even better time. Best thump I've felt since spring!!
The secret to fishing? Fish where the fish are.
Nice report Bubba. I was there Saturday too. I fished from 10 to 2 . I wanted to see if the patter I was fishing the week of thanksgiving was still going to produce. It did. I hit 2 spots and had my limit. I don't think that it will last much longer with the cold weather coming in this weekend. It maybe time to start spider rigging again the next time I go.
