Might just be the line. Lately I have found my line that I use to be junk. I use 6 lb test hi viz yellow and I can break it with my hands so I have tried another line. I do not use flourocarbon as it is not needed to catch crappie

3 loops and wet the line before you cinch it down. If you don't wet the line it cuts itself when cinched causing the knot to fail.
