They are addictive because they taste so good. I have just started to fish Murray and when you find bait you will find the fish. Back of buffalo creek is a good place to try. I mainly fish up the little river all the way up to little river landing but I haven't heard and reports from up there yet.

Welcome to the forum. Murray is my home lake and also the hardest for me to fish, but that is my problem not the lake's. Several of the guys do real well here and you will pick up lots of tips from them. The lake activity is picking up now that cooler weather is here, so you should start seeing more posts on Murray as well as others.

Roger on the "taste so good" I have fished some up the little Saluda past little river landing last year. Not sure how the lake being down will affect things now.

Default Lake Murray, Fairly new to Crappie fishing

Welcome to the boards. Murray is my home waters as well. I'm mostly a little river guy, but I venture to other areas too. I live about 10 min from Dreher Island, but my family has a lake place up past Harmon's Bridge.

I fish most lakes in the state and I have to say Murray is one of the most difficult places because it's inconsistent. It's still one of my favorites though. There are some serious slabs in that lake and with a little time on the water it can be very productive. You look like you're well on the way to being a full time crappie fisherman! A few more thumps and you'll forget about those bass with racing stripes until they ransack your tightlining spread. LOL
