Belews Lake 11-15-16Fished Belews Lake today. It was 37 degrees when I left the house but warmed up and I had to come out of the insulated underware. I had one of the best days that I have ever had fishing this lake. I caught 91 crappie, 20+ white perch. 5 channel catfish, 4 largemouth, and 1 yellow perch. I knew before I left the house where I wanted to fish and had already set my split shot for that depth. As I threw out the 6th rod, rod #1 went off. Winding him in and 2 other rods went off. Two of the fish were over 3/4 lb. I had a smile on my face. The quality of the fish today was very good for this lake. I threw back a lot of 3/4 lb fish which seldom happens here. Water temp was 54 degrees and light wind made longline trolling easy for a change. The catfish and larger white perch crossed lines as usual and made tangles. Fish were still shallow. Most caught in 12 ft of water. Kept 5 ranging from 3/4lb to 1 1/4 lb. Cleaned them and hit the grease in less than one hour. Very good! The leaf color made for a beautiful day on the water. Only saw one other boat all day in the area of the lake I was fishing.
