    Lake Norman Hybirds

    for madmax

The bite on the hybrids is starting on the north end of the lake above the 150 bridge. I caught 12 Friday before the cold front came in on Saturday. I am also catching a large number of spots, I will be out during this week and report back. Most of them have been caught trolling alabama rigs. This one attacked one of Pete's rigs.

    Belews Lake 11-15-16

Fished Belews Lake today. It was 37 degrees when I left the house but warmed up and I had to come out of the insulated underware. I had one of the best days that I have ever had fishing this lake. I caught 91 crappie, 20+ white perch. 5 channel catfish, 4 largemouth, and 1 yellow perch. I knew before I left the house where I wanted to fish and had already set my split shot for that depth. As I threw out the 6th rod, rod #1 went off. Winding him in and 2 other rods went off. Two of the fish were over 3/4 lb. I had a smile on my face. The quality of the fish today was very good for this lake. I threw back a lot of 3/4 lb fish which seldom happens here. Water temp was 54 degrees and light wind made longline trolling easy for a change. The catfish and larger white perch crossed lines as usual and made tangles. Fish were still shallow. Most caught in 12 ft of water. Kept 5 ranging from 3/4lb to 1 1/4 lb. Cleaned them and hit the grease in less than one hour. Very good! The leaf color made for a beautiful day on the water. Only saw one other boat all day in the area of the lake I was fishing.

    Jordan Thanksgiving morning

Me and a Friend slipped off to Jordan this morning. We fished for about 4 hours then had to head to the Thanksgiving Feast. Fished 25 to 30 FOW marked a lot fish 20 to 25 foot deep. The bite was real good early then slowed down. We finished with about 20 keepers and they were Nice and Fat. Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!

Nice Perch/Crappie and a few Screenshots on Harris

Charles, Pop and I had a perfect day on Harris. The weather was nice and had fish biting most of the day. We were experimenting, so went through some dry spells; but all in all, a good day on the water. Pop is home right now cleaning the fish and I am sure he is glad we did not catch anymore. The water this afternoon was 60 degrees, so I think the fish are still in transition to their wintering grounds.

We had fun with some really nice perch and crappie. We didn't keep a count, but most of the perch were much larger than normal. The smaller perch can be a headache, but most of the ones we caught were definitely above normal. Take a look at this monster Charles caught:
