I'm currently working off the coast of Tenerife, Spain (one of the Canary Islands controlled by Spain) and today while me and my buddy Terry were manning the BBQ grill we had a little shower come through and it produced a double rainbow. Just thought I would post the pic as it's a beautiful view from the bow of the ship.

Gorgeous country for sure, and I like the people there. Whenever I see the name, I recall the worst aviation accident in history occurred there in 1977. Believe it was 580+ folks. I was required to analyze aircraft accidents when learning to fly at Texas A&M.

If memory serves, that is the windest place I have ever been. We stopped the car on a slope where they had wind turbines and we could not open the car door on the wind side.

Oh yes. We spent our first winter of our RV travels in Mission Texas and visited South Padre Islands. It was really windy, but I never saw anything short of a hurricane compare to Tarifa.Ray, I guess you haven't been to West Texas
And we spent time in Oklahoma and Kansas too. After we retired we sold our house and traveled full time in our Motorhome for several years.

I'm on a drill ship. Been working offshore for the past 9 1/2 years and in that time I have put my feet on every major continent except Antarctica and the Artic. It's hard to believe I get paid to see the world sometimes. It's definitely a eye opener to get out of Louisiana and see other cultures and places. One thing for sure is while I have been places I could stand to live there is no place I would want to live over the USA! We have a lot of freedoms we take for granted compared to the rest of the world. Not to mention there are just to many things I like to do in the USA like deer hunting, fishing, and driving a 6.7L vehicle lol!
