Felt like I had the place to myself today. There were only a handful of other boats on the water And no one fished anywhere near me. All the talk of pressure on Washington has bummed me out so it was nice to have some room to stretch my legs today. Fished from daylight to 10 and brought home 12 keepers.
I did get to find out that my net floats today. I set the hook on a good fish (13.75 inches) and with the pole in my right hand I went to net her with my left. About that time I had another pole get buried in the water so my instincts kicked in and I let go of the net which fell in the water and set the hook on that pole. So now here I am with two good fish on the line with a net floating away and no free hands. I'm sure I would have been good entertainment for any onlookers, and I did eventually land both fish and return for my net. All in all a good day!

Wow! Nice catch. Only the diehard fishermen will be on the lakes from now until early spring.![]()
Be safe and good luck fishing
I'm a diehard to. Leaving here in a couple of hours. Going to a state lake and do not expect to see another boat. This is a great time of the year to fish!

That's a funny story. Nothing like looking up and having a pole buried off in the water. Fall fishing is some great times often in solitude with hard bites. I personally do not EVER carry a net in my boat. I horse most of my fish up to me although it can get tricky when the crappie get much bigger than 2.5 lbs hooked up on an inner pole.
