    Default Golden Crappie-Before Frying!

Crappiefool41 and I caught several of these yellow crappie last week. Tho we have all seen yellow BC caught way north and way south I've never seen em locally. This one is a WC but we actually caught more of the golden BC. ( sounds better than yellow) Doesn't seem to affect their health at all as this was one of the thickest 12" fish I've ever seen. Anyone else caught any of these?

Nice! I caught one back in September. Not as golden as some but the most golden one I've caught. It was more gold in person than pic is leading to believe. The gold was in-between the vertical black stripes across the whole crappie. It really stood out from the normal white color I pull from the lake.

Probably something due to water clarity. I noticed my lake is at 3' clarity which I've never seen before. Usually it's at 1' or less and the crappie are pretty white. Lately they've been darker. I see pics of black crappies in Maine and there a sweet black/gold color.
