    Default Father Son time

My older son is a single dad and self employed so free time is limited for him. We gave him a fish cleaning table for his birthday and he called asking if we could fish for a couple of hours in a pond near his house and maybe break in the table.
So we hit the pond this morning and caught enough pan size bream to make lunch. We cleaned the fish, heated the oil and had a good fresh fish meal. Even had granddaughter test our cooking on her way out.
Enjoyed a rare morning fishing with him.

This is a small pond deep in the woods behind his house. It was drained and forgotten years ago, but beavers plugged the holes and it filled up. All the fish in here were brought in by birds picking up eggs and depositing them here. Lots of bream and bass. We heard a buck snorting in the woods below the dam and he sounded like a stud. Foliage was so thick we couldn't see him but he was close by.

Ray looks like a great time was had. Beavers can do some damage but they can also help make some very good fishing spots

When I was a youngster, pond bream is how I made my living. I still enjoy a hand sized bream fried on the bone occasionally. Glad you had a chance to enjoy a little father and son time Ray.

Glad you and your son got to spend some quality time together. I wish I could spend some with mine but I can't.

Awesome, my boys are still young but they love fishing just as much as I. Can't wait to take them out more!

You made each other's day and made a fine memory to boot. Congrats on a great day.

Josh take them out every time you can and spend that time making memories. We never know when God has other plans for them. God bless
