Future FJ tournament question

Would it be against any rules to bring fish to the weigh in in a ariated cooler to keep them alive ? If I entered it again I would probley fish about 50 miles up river around Danville where my camp is and i know the water .. But really wouldn't want to tow my boat a 22' bay boat all the way back to the weigh in.

Doesn't matter what you bring them to the weigh in in as long as there alive. Can bring them in your pocket if you can keep them alive.

I think the only issue I might see in any future fruit jar tournaments is fishermen would be limited to KY and Barkley Lakes, which in this scenario would be 100% legal. I used a 40 qt cooler for a livewell for 16 years in my previous boat. Only difference in your situation is yours isn't attached to the boat.You'll be good to go IMO.

If we start a FJ series like Mississippi does, I believe your live well is checked prior to launch. Then a ribbon tied to the boat stating it has been checked. We fished the big mama tournament in March and this was the procedure.
Holding everyone to the same standard guarantees a level playing field.

ky lake is a different kind of lake according to google that sucker is 184 miles long from the head waters to the dam !
That woud be a heck of a drive just to get your live well checked if you wanted to fish to the far south end

Also keep in mind FJ"s are for fun and a few bragging rights also (still got to have some rules to go by) not meant to be something to cause problems between friendly fishermen.

I hope we don't have to start doing the live well check. Because I'm out as taking care of it. I'm not gonna be somewhere in the morning in time for live well check then drive to my fishing location.
As Mrdux said. As far as our FJ it is for ky and barkley.
But if you fish ours. You are welcome to bring them in an aerated cooler just like CUSA
