Thread: Lake Monroe Friday 10-28

Asked the wife what we had going for Friday morning. She said that nothing was happening and I could go fishing if I wanted. Guess what I did !!

I hit the ramp a little after 7 AM. Headed down towards the old power plant and set up for a drift. The wind was playing nice at that time and I had good control of the boat. I worked the area around #5 and was able to put a couple of fish in the boat. The wind was starting to pick up so I moved more in close to the shore, hoping to block the wind some. I got some action around #4 so I went into circle mode to see what I could do. I made 3 or 4 rounds, put a few more fish in the boat then made a wide sweep to see what was going on. The wind was really starting to play with me. I spent more time adjusting the boat then watching the rods. Around 11 AM I called it a day. I had caught 8 keepers and had thrown back just as many smaller ones.

It was still a good day on the water, even if I had to fight with the wind. I'll give it another try on Sunday morning. I love it when my wife lets me go fishing.
