I couldn't catch a fish ether this weekend, I had some good bites but it was slow. I got a few to the top of the water and lose them 2 of them were real good fish. Maybe next time

Put a crank on a rod crank outboard put in gear throw crank out hold rod in hand and ride around the lake watching the depth finder you will learn the lake and catch fish too

I have always said that if I didn't want to catch fish, just go to Caney. In two years and a few months I have not figured the crappie out on that lake. I managed a small bass and one nice crappie in 5 hours. Both caught on black/chartreuse no name Dodson Special. Brought them home, fileted them, and baked them with some Tony's and liquid shrimp and crab boil.

I ran into scrapiron and he had 8 crappie and a catfish, caught on shiners off of some tops in 20 feet of water. He tried to tell me where those tops were, but me and my hummingbird could not find them.

Water temp was 73.3 degrees and very clear. It was a beautiful day to be on the water and I thank the Lord for the privilege to live in the state of Louisiana, where we have so many places to fish and the freedom to do so. Now, where to for Monday morning; my off day.

Went back and fished Sunday evening and this morning. Few little ones. 1 keeper.

slow bite may be the barometer.....pretty high right now....

Pastor --- have you looked at Google Earth .... the shots are always in the winter when the leaves are off the trees. down close to the dam is where all the Crappie boats are Congrated ,,, the best deep water area. you can also go back in time to years past and find other areas some boats are fishing brush piles.. The good thing is Google gives the GPS where the pointer sits .... going back you find the points fished by others that have put in lots of hours looking. those points are mostly on the south side
