Pontoon. Simple! Go get ya about 30 Driftmaster single 0° rod holders and matching number of telescoping poles. 5 gallon bucket full of minners or grass shrimp and carry on.

Oh no, it's going to be a multi purpose rig. Saltwater fishing and scalloping, booze cruising/camping, and freshwater fishing! Decent sized livewell, iPilot or xi5, led lighting. Only rule is no carpet.

I would highly recommend the XI5 saltwater. Love mine. The 2 GPS heads keep anchor practically dead still vs the circle that Ipilot does. Does not have a screen on remote like Ipilot does though. But that anchor lock tops that for my overall needs.

Yeah,I like the jog and route record/repeat too. Have fished on a bay boat with one offshore and loved it.

It is super nice not having to throw the hook and wonder if ya got enough rode or guessed the wind/tide correct and push a button and move over 5'. Even holds dead spot on in inlet at strong mean tide. I have close to $200.00 in anchor, chain, rode and bag and have never needed it yet, with that motor.

Well, got the boat all ready Saturday afternoon, went to fire up the fish finder and it won't even flicker. Lowrance Elite 4hdi. It started not reading the map card a couple weeks ago, so I figured something was up. Bought it in February, so should be good under warranty. Anyone dealt with Lowrance warranty service? Read some horror stories from a few years ago talking 30-90 days turnaround time.

Fished a bit (though blind) Saturday afternoon on Lake Marion, wind was screaming, surely drifting much too fast even with a drift sock, couldn't tell my speed without the GPS. Nothing.

Decided to go to Medard Reservoir in Plant City to see if maybe we could get lucky on a sunshine bass or specks drifting the open water and throwing a rattle trap. Wind was fine early, started blowing by 10:00. Ended up catching a 5-6lb catfish is all.

Calling Lowrance today, if turn around time looks to be pretty long, I may just go ahead and pull the trigger on a Helix that I'm going to be using on the pontoon and bass boat.

Go to the candy store Bridgemaster at Lake Wales, best selection of just walking around. My favorite color for a jig in Florida is red/chartreuse. Love the BNM 11 foot jig pole super sensitive, love it for single pole.

We stay and fish at Lake Kissimmee from Christmas till April, lots of specks. Camp Mack is a great spot, we have been there for 10 years, made lots of new friends and fishing buddies. My wife loves it as well, she fishes with me.

Good luck and welcome to the best spot on the Internet for finding all the information you can use about crappie catching.
