Yes I do. I prefer to use the Trout Magnet jig head as it is only 1/64 but the current was way too strong for that today.

We had to always turn em loose of coarse but the fact that I know they are in there and have had zero luck in scoring on em when I fish for them is mind boggling! Nice looking fish man!
The place I am fishing is just basically a very wide ditch. When the current is running I will adjust my jig head weight accordingly....cast upstream of the current.....count down to my depth I want....and slowly retrieve it back to the point I think...know...the crappie are holding at. Now it will take a few casts to get the drift and depth right. It can be frustrating trying to time a cast jig like that. I have had to go up to as much as a 1/8 ounce....which for my way of fishing is very heavy. Today they were at 14 feet. I find when the current is up it is also a much harder thump too. I have been below Pickwick Dam fishing for white bass.....which has much more current than where I was fishing today....and got into tons of crappie....of course probably the best way to do this is with UL cranks...but I am hard headed....LOL.

I knew that, and that's what brought about my comment, intended as a joke.

Thanks for the prayers and words of encouragement guys. Just a reminder for all to wear sunscreen. I did not and am now paying for it. It is only basal cell carcinoma but requires slicing it off of my forehead.....been assured I will be back fishing in a few days. Life is good!

Thanks much for the comments guys. Surgery went well....but may need several radiation treatments as the basal cell was in the nerves. They will let me know after they get the lab results back. But the doctor said the radiation will be nothing more than an inconvenience for me and all is well. The real good news is I can start back fishing tomorrow.....and I am going...LOL.
