    Truman 10/10

Put in at long shoal and ran up and fished the wier. Caught a couple crappie and some whites but nothing spectacular. Went back towards long shoal and had a hard time all day. Finally found a few on a bare bluff casting some white swim jigs to the bank and retrieving very slowly on the bottom. Ended up with 10 keepers and a white bass. Had one very nice 13" crappie beautiful day overall.

    For long poler
Wyatt and I put in at Sparrowfoot early this morning and took a crisp cool boat ride down river. Caught fish right off the bat over brush in about 7ft water on minnows to start. Wyatt switched to a spike-it jig junebug color with a pink head. Noticed he was getting bit better than the minnow. Went further down river and we hit some tree rows. With pole in each hand, one with minnow, one with junebug jig I noticed the jig getting all the hits. Best fish came out of 3ft water. Jigs were definitely the better bait today.
16 keepers all released. Several short fish were caught also.

Got the rigging poles back out as weather kind of dictates what is going on. Paul and I had a good time all day trying our best to get two limits. As most have posted getting short fish to bite is not a problem. Must have brought over 100 fish to the boat but only brought 28 crappie and 1 hybrid home. If Paul would not have had other obligations I am sure we could have found a couple more. Great day with a best bud. Minnows anywhere from 15ft. to 35ft.

    My weekend at fall camp

Drove down Friday morning, put in at Bucksaw and fish upwards to Hays Creek. It was tough fishing with the cold front just coming through, raising water and the lake turning over up at that end. Did catch about a 20 lb carp to keep me ahead of Paul in the non target fish category. Took back out to set up camp and drank a cold one with CrappieHead and Tink. Got a hold of Longpoler and met him at Mallards for a sandwich and some cold ones. Went back to camp and Day Dreamer showed up with his camper. Slept in a little late and fished Bucksaw down to point 16. Had best luck at Point 16. Caught crappie, bass and catfish on minnows. Gave the two catfish to a guy fishing with his two kids. Saturday evening was the Green Wing Memorial fish fry for his dad, had a hot fish dinner with all the extras, plus deserts. Had a fun time talking to all the CDC members. Went back to camp and after a lot of cold beers with Day Dreamer and Tink we decided to fish right above the dam in the morning. It was our first time for the three of us to fish that area so moved around till we found a spot that looked good. The white bass where chasing shad all around us. We had a blast catching and missing bites, both Tink and Day Dreamer both caught a crappie each. I was skunked on crappie. Tink took home 11 white bass and we threw back a lot of the smaller ones. We had a great time and the weather was perfect on Saturday and Sunday.

    LOZ 10/13 Report

Caught a nice mess of crappie dock fishing today. Lots of shorts mixed in. Bite was anywhere between 10-15 ft in 25-30 fow.
Using jig and niblet. Not as windy as I'd like it Pretty calm but great day to be out. 4 mm below Bagnell dam just off main channel. Name: IMG_0886.jpg

I guess I need to post here as well. Took another short trip to the weir today. We only had about 3 hours. Tried to dial the crappie in but could only find whites and hybrids. Downsized to the Bobby Garland baby shad swimmer, but still no crappie. It was nice the big hybrids didn't seem to care. We ended up with 5 over 18 inches.
