Well I got up to Mermaid Marina Saturday morning around 10:00. The wind had to have been blowing 15 or so. I got out to about half way of the river and I immediately turned around and went back into the cove. Waited till Sunday and went out as the wind wasn't as bad. I went across the river to some kind of cove and fished a couple of hours. Water was about 3-5 foot deep. I slip corked minners for a few. Caught a few shorts around the stake beds. I caught a couple on a Bobby Garland baby shad in I think Blue Ice color. Left there went back to the Mermaid. Fished around the boat docks and a few stake beds. I was tipping the Baby Shad jigs with minners and managed one keeper, and a decent bass. Fished Monday morning till about 10:00. Put out the spider rig with an assortment of Bobby Garland baby shad jigs, had a couple of hair jigs, and a yellow and white tube jigs all tipped with minners. Managed 3 keepers for about 3 hours of fishing. I did go to the Lower Lick Creek and fished around the mouth, as to the rest is pretty much unfishable because of shallow water. Got no bites. Ended the weekend with 4 keepers and one bass. Oh the wife and I did go to a small lake Friday and managed one nice 14" on a white crappie magnet tipped with a minner. I believe with the low water and the clarity of it the slip corking a minnow with a pink Zebco 33 was the best combo for the weekend.

Days and times like this are what make Good days GOOD. Thanks for letting us know we are normal when we don't just load the boat.

Oh might I add that I cut all the stomachs open and they were full of minners. Smelled like sardines when I opened them up.
Good report. I have those kind of days all the time. I need to get me one of those pink zebco 33's.![]()
