    Default Chickamauga Lake report: 9/30/2016

I just have a very short time to fish this AM as I was by myself and my wife had an appointment that I had to carry her to. Grin. But, I wanted to go look for the last crappie hotel that Dr Phillip and I put out. We were unable to find it last Tuesday and I was a little bit concerned when we couldn't find it on side scan or down scan. But, success was with me today. I ran right over it and it had a school of fish very near the bamboo and also what was probably bass on the bottom an easy cast away, although I didn't fish for them.

Speaking of bass fishing, there must be a big tournament going on down here on the Chick. Must be for big bucks too, because most of the bass guys that were running by me within 50 yards, when they had 1/4 mile or more to go around, just weren't concerned with someone sitting on a structure with a marker buoy down and the boat very near. Some of these guys are the most SELFISH people in the world, but just let someone get near them when they are fishing and you get cussed out. I'm through with the rant now. Spleen vented and I feel much better.

Back to my short report. I caught a keeper on the latest bamboo hotel. Checked on two more hotels that we put out in the past 3 weeks and they didn't have fish on them today, although they did a couple of weeks ago. I fished one other spot nearby and ended up with 4 keepers and 3 short fish before I had to race back home and put the boat on the trailer. I did think about running within 20 yards of a line of bass fishermen that were fishing the ledges near grass, but I just couldn't stoop to their level. (But I will confess, I thought about it awfully hard about throwing a wake into their boats.) LOL

Bass Assassin Pro Tiny Shad in the 2" new color, Chicken on a Chain was productive along with Blue Ghost.

Why be sorry about a bass fishing rude encounter. Just got off the phone with a friend who was fishing the Hiwassee yesterday and had one go 60mph between him and the bank and he wasn't but 30ft from the bank. It's going to take someone getting hurt real bad before TWRA or who ever does something about this.

Looks like you got that crappie hotel right in a nice drop off.

I think most boaters, fishermen and pleasure. thinks there is a proximity law that says you have to overtake or go around someone sitting fishing at Less than 50'.
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

    Good report
    Wonder why rudeness happens?

Tournaments have rules on stuff like that. The folks running the tournament need to know about competitors who make it more difficult to hold tournaments.

Good report. There are always those bad apples on the lake. I slow down in narrow passages or when I go by someone to close. Lynn always says "'why do you slow down, they don't for you"?
